Bush Gives Back The Alamo

(AP) Texas Governor George W. Bush announced today
that he plans to give The Alamo back to Mexico.
Political analysts generally agree that his plan is
a shallow bid to appeal to the latino vote.

At a fundraiser during breakfast, Bush said, "It's
all about bringing people together."

At a fundraiser during lunch, he said, "The Alamo
has been a heated issue since 1836, and I think
the people of Texas are tired of it already."

Senator McCain issued a scolding statement of strong
opposition to Bush's plan, and recalled the story of
Davy Crockett's death at the hands of Santa Ana'a
army.

At a fundraiser during dinner, Bush said, "When
the other candidates take issue with my record,
that's one thing,.... but when they start trying
to compare me with Santa Ana, that's just wrong!"

Bush was enraged by McCain's comments, and was
forced to leave the fundraiser immediately after
the money was collected because the vein in his
forehead was bulging, and his aids were fearful
that it might burst.

Al Gore also issued a statememt to the press "...to
remind the voters that *I* cast the deciding vote
in Congress to approve the annexation of Texas.
I was for it in 1836, and I stand behind it today!"

Bush also addressed the logistical problems of moving
the 250 year old building from San Antonio to Mexico,
a distance of 150 miles.

At a fundraiser during dessert, Bush said, "Let me
just say this: We're NOT going to give a piece of
downtown San Antonio to Mexico. We're just going
to give them the building. I think we can use some
mobile home tractors to move it. We've sure got
plenty of those in the great state of Texas."

Bush coined a new slogan for his plan at a fundraiser
during his sleep: "Forget The Alamo!"
